About Me

Welcome! I am an assistant professor and public health researcher in the Department of Health Sciences at Central Washington University. I have cultivated an interest in making health care more accessible and higher quality for people who need it most. This often centers my work on evaluating programs and policies that improve the delivery of essential health and social services in settings that serve low-income individuals and families, communities of color, and other medically-underserved populations. I am also interested in patient-centered care redesign and how to align health care systems with patients’ unique needs, preferences, and values in a way that facilitates optimal health care decision-making.

As an educator, I am passionate about equipping my students with meaningful skills that can be used to develop, implement, and evaluate public health programs to in their own communities or wherever their interests take them. I believe in offering my students exposure to a breadth of public health issues and topics and helping them discover their individual path toward emerging leadership in the public health field.

I completed my DrPH in health policy at the George Washington University in Washington DC, and an MPH in primary health care and health disparities at Oregon Health and Science University.

When I'm not in the classroom or on the research track, you can find me cycling with my husband and daughters, playing frisbee with our two dogs, watching the Food Network, and planning my next travel adventure.
